Privacy
No accounts and no tracking. Your music and your sessions stay on your iPad. The only thing we ever ask you for is an email address, and only if you want to join the beta or write to us.

The app
River doesn’t ask you to sign in, and it collects nothing about you or how you use it. There are no analytics and no advertising. Sessions, snapshots, sequences and recordings are saved on your iPad, and go anywhere else only if you send them there yourself, by sharing a file or saving it to iCloud Drive.
River asks for the microphone so you can use it as an audio input. What it hears is played through your session and is recorded only if you record it into a session yourself. None of it is sent anywhere.
Crash reports
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPad’s settings, Apple passes on crash reports and basic diagnostics. They don’t identify you, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings, under Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.
Beta sign-ups and messages
If you send us a message through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply.
If you ask to join the beta, we collect your name, your Apple ID (the email address you use with the App Store) and any comment you add. We use them only to invite you to River’s beta through Apple’s TestFlight, and to reply if you’ve asked us something. We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we don’t share your details with anyone else.
Both forms are sent by a small program of ours that runs on Cloudflare, which hosts this website. It emails what you write to us, using Cloudflare’s email service, and keeps nothing itself; the message is then held in our email. Cloudflare may process it outside your country, including in the United States. Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains how it handles data.
To keep the forms free of automated submissions, they may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that runs in your browser and doesn’t use cookies to track you. Cloudflare’s privacy policy covers it.
Unless we hear otherwise, at the end of the beta period we’ll keep you on the TestFlight list for future beta testing. You can ask to be removed at any time, and to view or delete any of your details that we hold.
This website
No cookies and no analytics. The preview’s music is made in your browser, by code running on your own device, and nothing about it goes anywhere. The page’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your browser’s request for them, as any web server would.
